#19 How to fix a sink blockage

Sometimes your clogged bathroom sink can be quickly and easily fixed on your own. The biggest cause of blockages is hair – yes, it could look like some foreign creature lurking in the drains, but this quick video shows you how to use a plunger and the overflow hole to fix a common clogged bathroom sink drain. Please follow instructions carefully or alternatively, reach out to Yates Plumbing and Gas for help.

This video looks at a bathroom sink drain blockage. These normally block at pop up assembly as this collects hair, toothpaste, soap and all sorts! Disconnect and lift the assembly up. Use an old toothbrush to clean to clean and clear ports. If the sink is still jammed, used a plunger without the neck out. Block off overflow port with cloth and hold plunger down firmly, push and pull back. You can also use water to push the blockage!
